Since 2013 we have been developing in our Prague R&D Center advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for smarter cars.
We are looking for a Chief Data Officer in our R&D Center in Prague. The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will play a vital role on the Driving Automation (DA) management team, overseeing DA's data management, data analytics, and data-driven decision-making. The CDO will ensure that all data collected within DA has a defined purpose and reuse strategy. This encompasses shaping and implementing the data strategy, defining and executing data-driven development MTP, managing the company’s data infrastructure, ensuring data privacy and security, and leading the development of data-driven products and solutions across product lines.
YOUR CHALLENGES?
Data Strategy and Governance
- Develop and implement DA's data strategy, aligning it with business goals, particularly for AI-driven driving automation and ADAS solutions
- Create and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and security
- Promote data integration across R&D, product development, engineering, and digital services
Data Life Cycle Management & Mission Definition
- Define and manage the complete data lifecycle, from acquisition and storage to analysis and deletion
- Establish a clear data mission, encompassing validation, training, and legal data
- Implement data versioning, lineage tracking, and metadata management for improved traceability and usability
- Ensure data access control and data usage across stakeholders and product lines
Data Infrastructure, Architecture & Management
- Oversee the architecture and scalability of data pipelines for ADAS perception, simulation, and validation
- Promote cloud-based and edge computing solutions for optimized real-time data processing
- Design and implement data architecture to support high-volume, high-velocity data ingestion, processing, and analytics, while optimizing the balance of cloud and on-premise resources for cost and performance
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers and ensure robust cybersecurity
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Develop and oversee cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive data, in compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations
- Implement strong encryption, authentication, and access control for ADAS data pipelines
- Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity risks related to data storage, processing, and transmission
- Collaborate with IT/IS and security teams to maintain compliance with ISO 21434 and UNECE WP.29 regulations
Fleet Data Mining & Continuous Development
- Create and implement a strategy for using field data to extract valuable insights for continuous ADAS improvement
- Implement the infrastructure for data acquisition, transmission, and analysis
- Upgrade the system to support data sampling during vehicle operation
- Define OTA protocols for data transmission and build a back-end server for data collection and analysis
- Work with OEMs to establish secure data-sharing frameworks for post-production data insights
Data-Driven Development
- Define the DDD strategy to ensure all data has a clear mission and purpose
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across product development and engineering
- Use predictive analytics and machine learning models to enhance functional development
- Establish a framework for algorithm developers to utilize real-time and historical data analytics to refine algorithms
- Ensure data availability and access to measure system performance and drive iterative product improvements
Data Analytics Leadership
- Oversee analytics to gain actionable insights that inform product innovation, customer experience, and operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to translate data insights into practical solutions and enhance decision-making
Data Infrastructure and Technology
- Design and optimize data systems and technologies for real-time data collection, storage, processing, and analysis in a highly scalable environment
- Guide the implementation of cloud-based and on-premises data infrastructure to ensure robustness, scalability, and flexibility
- Oversee data pipeline development and deployment to support continuous improvement and real-time monitoring of driving systems and services
Compliance and Data Privacy
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and standards, such as GDPR and CCPA, particularly for driving and personal data
- Implement measures to ensure ethical AI use, including transparency in algorithmic decision-making and data handling
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product line and engineering teams to define KPIs and incorporate data-driven insights into product design and development
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align data initiatives with the company’s strategic vision and contribute to revenue growth and market differentiation
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data team, including data engineers, data scientists, and analysts
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the data team to stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, data science, and automotive technology
LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU…
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in data management, AI, and analytics, with significant leadership experience (preferably in the automotive, AI, or technology sectors)
- Proven expertise in data strategy, data architecture, and AI/ML technologies, particularly in high-volume, real-time data environments
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks
- Experience in managing large-scale data infrastructures and leading cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for innovation, particularly in autonomous driving, smart mobility, and connected digital services
