The Senior Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring high-quality standards and consistency of coffee products through the implementation and management of rigorous quality control processes. This role collaborates closely with Procurement, Production, Export, Logistics, and Trade departments to uphold both internal and client quality requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Bulking
Take lead in bulking sessions as required for various grades.
Issue Bulking Reports after each session.
2. Control of Sampling/Offloading Activities
Ensure sampling accuracy and compliance with procedures during offloading.
Report discrepancies or non-conformities promptly.
3. Control of Production Activities
Monitor and supervise quality personnel during production to ensure adherence to set standards.
Ensure correct processing parameters, including moisture checks and analysis methodology, are applied.
Track quality trends and report any non-compliances.
4. Export Sampling
Coordinate with inspectors to ensure smooth export operations.
Collect reference samples during loading for all export coffees, including third-party loadings (e.g., Besmark, CEVA).
Ensure strict adherence to export sampling procedures.
5. Cup Tasting and Evaluation
· Take lead in cup preparation and ensure all purchased, PSS and production samples are cupped daily
Develop and maintain a comprehensive flavour profile library.
Train staff on tasting and evaluation techniques.
6. Unit Operations
Participate in regional coffee operations as required.
Travel to various units as and when necessary.

· In case of absenteeism, the responsibilities of this role will be covered by the Second Senior Quality Controller.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Food Processing, Agriculture, or related field.
UCDA certification/license in Basic Quality Control (an advantage).
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the coffee sector.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
Physically fit to stand or walk for extended periods.
