The position

Job description

We are actively looking to recruit a research intern to be part of the TISSIUM’s Innovation hub. This person will have an active role on activities related to the design, evaluation and characterization of our 3D-printed polymer parts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead ‘proof of concept’ work on evaluating mechanical performance of 3D printed devices, through physical experiment & FEA simulation models.
  • Evaluate relevance of FEA models to predict 3D-printed material behaviour.
  • Work on part design to improve usability and mechanical performance of 3D printed developed devices
  • Perform bibliographic reviews to support project decisions
  • Redaction of feasibility study reports
  • Present results in team meetings

Job Environment/Interactions

  • Document activities according to TISSIUM policy
  • Present studies follow up and outcomes to the Project Team and Management
  • Work closely with Innovation &Development teams to understand TISSIUM products specificities
  • Participate in the maintenance of the laboratory organization and quality procedures in accordance with TISSIUM Policy

Preferred experience

Qualifications & Skills

  • M2 in mechanical engineering or last year of engineering school
  • Experience with CAD software – preferably Solidworks
  • Experience with FEA software
  • Previous experience on material characterizations tests (in particular mechanical testing - traction, compression …) linked to polymers is a plus
