The position

Job description

As Head of Sales - Spain, you will be responsible for building and scaling our sales operations in the Spanish market. You will lead the commercial strategy for Spain, building and managing a high-performing sales team while driving revenue growth and market penetration. This is a strategic leadership role that requires both hands-on execution and vision to establish Spendesk as the leading spend management solution for Spanish businesses. You will work closely with our European leadership team and cross-functional partners in marketing, partnerships, and customer success to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Spain, building quarterly business plans to drive revenue growth and market penetration
  • Team Building & Management: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing sales team
  • Revenue Ownership: Take full accountability for financial performance in Spain, including pipeline generation, conversion rates, deal velocity, and revenue targets
  • Market Development: Build deep market knowledge of the Spanish Mid-Market landscape, competitive positioning, and customer needs to inform product and marketing strategies
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure coordinated market entry and growth
  • Sales Operations: Implement and optimize sales processes, methodologies, and enablement programs tailored to the Spanish market
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with key prospects, customers, and industry partners while representing Spendesk at industry events and conferences
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and team development initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of targets
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate revenue forecasting and detailed performance reporting to European leadership team



    What we're looking for

    • Language Skills: Native level Spanish and fluent in written and spoken English
    • Sales Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of sales management experience in B2B SaaS, with proven track record of building and scaling sales teams
    • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Spanish business landscape, particularly Mid-market segment (50-1000 employees), with existing network preferred
    • Revenue Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding revenue targets
    • Team Management: Experience recruiting, developing, and managing sales professionals with strong coaching and enablement capabilities
    • Fintech/Payments Experience: Background in financial technology, payments, or spend management solutions highly preferred
    • Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven approach with experience using sales analytics, CRM systems, and performance dashboards
    • Communication Excellence: Outstanding presentation and communication skills for both internal leadership and external customer/partner interactions
    • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced environment, and building something from the ground up
