The position

Job description

As part of its Strategic Plan, Spendesk decided to address customer growth through two different teams within the Sales Department: Business Development  Responsible for acquiring new customers

Account Management: Responsible for growing and developing existing customers

As an Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving business growth by nurturing and expanding relationships with our  existing customers. You’ll manage a large portfolio with the goal of driving expansion through upsell, cross-sell, and contract negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will own a dedicated portfolio of Customers with the responsibility of developing it through proactive territory plans.
  • You will hunt for opportunities for upsell and cross-sell by maintaining a high level of touch points through outbound and inbound activities.
  • You will understand client needs, business objectives, and challenges to effectively position our products/services
  • You will be responsible, for those customers, for the entire sales cycle from potential identification to closing : Qualification > Discovery > Technical Validation > Commercial proposal > Signature.
  • You will understand the customer ecosystem (third party providers, software solutions used) to identify business opportunities.
  • You will maintain accurate records of client interactions, transactions, and progress using CRM software.
  • You will work closely with a dedicated team of Customer Success Managers ensuring the achievement of all key metrics related to customer growth, retention and Spendesk product usage growthYou will collaborate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Strategic Partnerships by providing customer feedback to drive product innovation.
  • What we're looking for

  • Commercial mindset: strong sales instincts, demonstrated assertiveness and a strong track-record of hitting and exceeding quota, as well as proven negotiation and closing skills.
  • Organization & portfolio management: strong organizational skills and disciplined in daily activity planning & prioritizing. Ability to manage a high number of opportunities simultaneously at various stages of the buying process.
  • Ability to navigate between high velocity deals and value focus deals.
  • Customer relationship & business partnership: take an active interest in understanding their customer context and pains to position oneself as a business consultant
  • Great Communicator: excellent verbal and written communication skills in (English & French)
  • Resiliency and Extra Miles Mindset: The AM department is still under construction; we then expect a company-first mindset and the ability to embrace challenges and navigate through uncertainty
