About Sonio

Each year, 140M children are born. Birth defects affect 1 in 33 births in developed countries, and in 50% of cases, they are not detected during prenatal examinations. Prenatal medicine is particularly complex, and the scans impose heavy responsibilities on healthcare professionals. They can also be a source of stress for future parents.

Resulting from 5 years of collaboration between world-renowned experts from Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique, Sonio uses artificial intelligence to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis. Based on patented algorithms and a proprietary expert database, Sonio aims to become the reference tool to help practitioners improve screening, reduce diagnostic errors, and optimize pregnant women’s medical path.

About the role

Our product - live in the US - are provide real-time assistance to practitioners during fetal ultrasound examinations. We built systems that interface with ultrasound machines (multi-platform edge software), stream imaging data to our cloud (real-time web tech), interpret data and images using AI/ML and push the results back to the practitioner’s interface (reactive web apps) - all in near real-time.

You will work with Deepak CTO & Co-founder to scale the tech team from 12 to 20 people at the end of the year with parallelised product lines. You will both bring technical leadership, contribute to product strategy and make sure to support the engineers in your team in growing their career and impact.

The main missions:

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals and mission.

• Set clear expectations for each person in your team. You’ll provide coaching and feedback to ensure people grow personally and professionally in your team.

• Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap and anticipate future requirements and infrastructure needs.

• Design, guide and vet systems design, and write product or system development code to solve technical challenges.

• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices are implemented for the whole tech team.

About the profile

Sonio is a mission-driven company so interest in our mission is critical. The ideal profile have experience with some of the following:

• Building/involved in building a product from scratch - so going from 0 to 1

• Scaling a product successfully - so going from 1 to 10 at least

• Managing a successful product (managing scale)

Other requirements are:

• Strong knowledge of web technologies and understanding of distributed system architecture

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Management experience

• You value teamwork and you are team-oriented. This role will interact with most of the teams internally. Moreover, happiness and well-being are a priority in the way we’re building the team and we also want to be innovative here!

• You speak fluent English

Compensation Range: €95K - €115K
