The position

Job description

Responsibilities

Within the Global Markets Division (MARK) of Societe Generale, you will join as an Intern in the USD Interest Rates Exotic Trading Desk within the Fixed Income department (FICC) in New York. Your focus will be on supporting market making activity for the desk on flow, exotics and investment strategies activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the desk risks to identify issues, missing trades, error deals etc. and working with trading support for resolution
  • Daily management of exotic deals call exercises including notifying sales when optimal
  • Booking validation of exotic trades
  • Daily PnL reporting and analysis for the desk
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of the desk activity
  • Following market parameters through broker and month-end quotes
  • Helping on specific projects to improve internal tools for relative value analysis and risk management of the book

Please note that for the missions outside the European countries, a VISA is necessary. Please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure. Otherwise, we strongly advise you to launch asap the renewal of your passport.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance and/or Engineering
  • A previous experience in in relation with Financial Markets would be appreciated

Language skills:
  • Fluent in English (B2-C1)

Technical, operational & Soft skills:
  • Strong Data analytical skills including coding skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office, with a focus on Excel, Powepoint and Visio
  • Being able to analyze and synthesize the risks of a transaction from a quantitative standpoint
  • PYTHON/EXCEL/VBA: Very good knowledge of Excel and Python & VBA programming


The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
