Job description

The Opportunity: Be the Nerve Center of Data Trust at Sifflet

As our Senior Product Manager - Monitoring, you will own the most critical component of data observability: the ability to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve data issues. You will build the intelligent, scalable, and intuitive monitoring engine that powers data trust for our customers.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end monitoring experience, from how a Data Engineer configures a complex check on a petabyte-scale Snowflake table, to how a Business Analyst understands a data quality metric on their key dashboard. You will own the roadmap for our monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution capabilities, ensuring Sifflet provides the most powerful and reliable data observability solution for the modern data stack. Your work will directly empower our customers to build confidence in their data assets and make better, faster decisions.

Here’s a taste of the monitoring challenges you might own:

  • Intelligent Anomaly Detection: Evolving our ML-powered monitoring to provide smarter, more context-aware anomaly detection with fewer false positives.

  • Root Cause Analysis at Scale: Building intuitive workflows that connect an incident back to its source, leveraging data lineage, system logs, and our exhaustive metadata layer to help users debug problems in seconds, not hours.

  • Scalability on Modern Data Platforms: Designing and optimizing monitoring capabilities to perform efficiently and cost-effectively across thousands of datasets in platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks.

  • Business-Centric Monitoring: Empowering business users to monitor the KPIs and business logic they care about, translating high-level needs into robust, automated checks.

  • Actionable Alerting & Integrations: Ensuring our alerting is not just noise, but a clear signal that integrates seamlessly into our users’ workflows in tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Jira.

  • Pioneering GenAI-Powered Observability: Leading the strategy and roadmap for Sifflet’s GenAI agents to deliver automated monitor recommendations, intelligent root-cause analysis, and actionable incident resolution suggestions at scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the Monitoring Roadmap: Define, prioritize, and communicate the strategic direction for Sifflet’s monitoring, data quality, and alerting features, with a relentless focus on customer impact and market leadership.

  • Master User Personas: Develop a profound understanding of the needs of our diverse users—from Data Engineers requiring powerful, code-based controls to Business Stakeholders needing simple, insightful dashboards—and build solutions that serve them all.

  • Translate Business Needs into Technical Reality: Act as the key translator between high-level business requirements (e.g., “this revenue dashboard must be accurate”) and the technical monitoring capabilities required to guarantee them.

  • Drive Execution with Excellence: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and other product teams to translate your monitoring strategy into tangible features and improvements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

  • Gather Deep Insights: Continuously engage with enterprise customers and internal stakeholders, and analyze product usage data to identify key opportunities and validate your roadmap.

Preferred experience

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Seasoned Senior B2B SaaS PM: You have demonstrable experience (5+ years) as a Product Manager, with a strong track record of shipping complex, technical products in a B2B SaaS environment.

  • Deep Data Expertise: You have significant experience in the data space. You possess a strong, hands-on understanding of modern data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks. You have a firm grasp of data quality, data observability, and data governance concepts.

  • Systems & Scalability Mindset: You naturally think in terms of complex systems. You can reason about monitoring engines, rule creation frameworks, anomaly detection models, and alerting pipelines that need to scale.

  • Profound User Empathy: You can effortlessly switch between the mindset of a highly technical engineer debugging a pipeline and a business executive who just needs to know if a report is trustworthy.

  • Strong Technical Acumen: While you don’t need to be a senior engineer, you are comfortable discussing architectural trade-offs, SQL performance, and API design with your engineering counterparts.

  • Strategic & Analytical: You excel at balancing a long-term strategic vision with the short-term execution needed to get there, using both qualitative and quantitative data to guide your decisions.

  • Excellent Communicator & Collaborator: You excel at working cross-functionally and articulating complex ideas with clarity and conviction to any audience.

Why You’ll Love Working at Sifflet (Beyond the Exciting Challenges!):

  • Be an Owner: We offer a competitive salary and meaningful Employee Stock Options (ESOP), because we’re all building Sifflet together.

  • Health & Wellbeing First: Benefit from top-tier health insurance and a Gymlib subscription to support your physical and mental wellbeing.

  • Work Your Way: We champion flexibility. Choose to work fully remotely or join us at our vibrant office located in the heart of Paris. We value in-person connection for key collaborations, so some sporadic office days can be part of the mix.
