Location: Paris or full-remote position in France. You must already be living in France and have the legal right to work here without visa sponsorship, as we’re unable to provide sponsorship for this position.

Position Overview:

We’re on the lookout for an exceptional Head of Data to step in for a 6-month parental leave cover.

If you love autonomy, this role is for you — you’ll be running our entire data function as a team of one. It’s a rare chance to make a real impact, shape how we use data, and leave your mark from day one.

 

Key Responsibilities

 
  • You work closely with go to market teams, product team and any other teams that need data to support the business. You will be expected to ensure continuity in supporting them on their data needs.
  • You maintain and optimise the data along the whole pipeline: from ingestion to visualisation. This is done using with a modern data stack (Airbyte, Airflow, DBT, BigQuery, Metabase).
  • You are the go-to person for providing support to any employee looking for some data in our visualizations. You can provide new data points with our transformation process using DBT when needed.

Our technical stack:

  • Airbyte for ETL (which is mainly EL in reality), Hightouch for reverse ETL (or Activation if we want to use new buzz words), Airflow for orchestration
  • DBT for transformation, with a medaillon architecture
  • BigQuery for the data warehouse
  • Metabase for the visualization
  • Everything is self-hosted in a managed Kubernetes cluster
  • Slack, messaging platform
  • Notion, collaboration platform
 

What you'll need to be successful

 
  • Extensive experience in a Data role.
  • Strong understanding of Data engineering and Data analysts’ day-to-day and high-level challenges.
  • Excellence in cross-team collaboration, from challenging the business need to executing a roadmap to provide a solution that answers the problem.
  • Curiosity in the Data world and relentlessness in providing Data that matters and is actionable to our employees.
  • Already worked with a Data engineering stack (from extraction to activation, with an orchestration mechanism).
  • Worked with DBT core.
  • Already worked with a visualization tool like Metabase, PowerBI, Tableau, Omni etc.
  • Proficient in English.
