About the job

Scaleway is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Internal-Services team.

You will be responsible to ensure we can reliably provide tools and services to Scaleway teams.

Another part of your job will be to support tools for the Datacenter Operation. We expect you to have a strong background in system administration, along with some DevOps experience and SRE practice.

Our systems evolve constantly and the tools we use to monitor, ensure their resilience and their security need to evolve accordingly.

Minimum qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production system failures
  • Experience with Linux systems: Ubuntu serverExperience with virtualization and containerization
  • Experience with secret management tools and identity management technologies
  • Experience in programming using at least one of these languages:Python, Bash, Go, JS, Ruby, etc.
  • Good understanding of computer networks: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, IPv6, firewall,network virtualization
  • A positive mindset and desire to work with a team
  • Passion for automation and incremental improvements on tooling
  • Very good command of English
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and continuous deployment
  • Experience monitoring & logging systems
  • Experience managing CI/CD tools
  • Experience with backup solutions
  • Knowledge of at least one cloud platform and related use-cases
  • Knowledge or experiences with ISO27001/ PCI-DSS
  • Previous ITIL experience

  • Responsibilities

  • Create or optimise existing tools & documentation that will help identify, diagnose, and solve production incidents, automating as much as possible
  • Troubleshoot high-impact issues by working with multiple Engineering teams (Storage, Network, Hardware)
  • Organise DRP on our tools/services and improve the architecture when necessary to always offer the best services possible.
  • Ensure a high quality of service for our Developers by leveraging observability and monitoring technologies
  • Help implementing best stability, resiliency, scalability, security, and performance practices across the company
  • Localisation:

    This position can be either: 

    Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), fully remote is possible
