Job Summary:
The Supply Chain & Supplier Quality Specialist (SCSQS) is responsible for monitoring and working with Supply Chain Management to improve the quality of supply chain-related process flows and managing supplier performance.
The SCSQS will work with Safran Electronics & Defense Canada (SEDC) Supply Chain staff and other departments to identify and close inter- and intra-departmental procedural and documentation gaps in order to improve Supply Chain Performance.
The SCSQS will help mitigate supply chain risk by working directly with the Quality Assurance and Programs departments, suppliers and Procurement to approve and audit suppliers, resolve supplier-related quality issues, administer supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), and produce regular supplier performance reports per approved procedures in order to monitor and improve supplier performance.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate supply chain processes for gaps and improvement opportunities in order to deliver better supply chain performance around consistency, cycle and leadtimes, and on-time delivery.
Work with other SEDC personnel to implement identified OFIs.
Create/update/review supporting supply chain documentation including QAIs (SOPs) and Work Instructions while ensuring compliance to quality requirements
Work with management to identify and implement metrics of supplier performance that will help drive supplier development and engagement.
Monitor and report out supplier quality performance per requirements and approved procedures.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all key suppliers.
Assist the Procurement team in researching, sourcing, and assessing the best vendors to supply required materials.
Identification of inspection criteria for purchased items.
Coordinate FAI's on new or revised products.
Lead or assist in the evaluation, approval and auditing of suppliers.
Produce and maintain approved supplier directory and supplier quality requirements manual.
Work to identify and mitigate all inbound supply risks including material security, quality, product safety and regulatory compliance.
Create, review and approve Part History Cards.
Assist in determination of non-conformance disposition and participation/approval of MRB decision.
Participate in evaluating and providing disposition of supplier concessions.
Participate in the evaluation/approval of substitute/alternate components.
Participate in production readiness review meetings.
Assist with REACh, RoHS, Conflict Minerals compliance.
Other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in an electrical or mechanical engineering field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of three years' experience with comprehensive quality management systems preferably AS9100.
Certified quality auditor.
Strong working knowledge of supply chain processes required. Certification in supply chain management an asset.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge required – certification preferred.
Experience working in a regulated environment required – Canadian Aviation Regulations experience preferred.
Experience in an electronics manufacturing/assembly environment, preferably IPC-A-610 Class 3.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
