The position

Job description

This position is global (possibility to work remotely) and we invite talented people from all EU to apply.

You will be part of a team of statisticians and data scientists. As a Bayesian modeler, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and executing statistical/modeling studies to the highest degree of client satisfaction using appropriate techniques; you will initiate, drive and implement novel methods for Bayesian inference, complex statistical models and innovative trial designs in alignment with the Lead Statistician
  • Working hand in hand with a team of statisticians and epidemiologists for project delivery
  • Supporting the delivery in consulting projects when it comes to the technical part
  • Training statisticians and epidemiologists on modelling and analysis skills
  • Providing statistical expertise to support submission activities and documents, explaining statistical methodologies, interpreting analyses results
  • Participating in business development activities, such as proposal writing
  • Collaborating with other line functions and explaining statistical concepts in an easily understandable way to non-statisticians
  • Providing adequate statistical justifications for actions/decisions/statements, when required
  • Establishing and maintaining sound working relationships and effective communication, both internally and externally

Preferred experience

A MSc + at least 5 years experience (or a PhD + 2 years experience) in a related and relevant area (statistics, data science, mathematical modeling, biometrics etc…).

  • Experience in Bayesian statistics and modeling, MCMC practice, Bayesian decision analysis or simulation-based optimization (e.g. Bayesian optimal design)
  • Experience in advanced statistics including e.g. parametric and non-parametric analyses, mixed-effects models, predictive modeling, network meta-analysis, imputations, advanced survival analysis, multi-state modeling, time series, stochastic processes, machine learning, model selection
  • Strong programming skills in R, python or other relevant languages
  • Experience with Bayesian software such as Stan or PyMC3
  • Experience working in healthcare or public health
  • Experience in the following areas is a big plus: pharmacometrics, pharmaco-epidemiology, knowledge of real-world healthcare databases, epidemic modeling, causal inference, AI/ML, R-Shiny
  • Experience working in the pharma industry or health agencies is a plus
  • Fluent English (oral and written)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working on a multidisciplinary team to achieve team objectives
