As a Research Scientist, Phage–Host Dynamics, you will lead innovative, high-risk, and high-reward research programs designed to explore the fundamental biology of bacteriophage–host interactions.
You will develop novel molecular and microbiological assays, run large-scale genetic screens, and collaborate with our Bioinformatics and Data teams to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
Your work will directly influence Phagos’ scientific roadmap and support the GHOST project, our flagship AI-driven phage prediction platform.
Your Missions
Design, validate, and implement novel, high-throughput molecular assays to study phage–host dynamics.
Lead functional genomics campaigns to identify biological factors that modulate infection cycles.
Apply advanced molecular and microbiological techniques to validate high-value targets and elucidate mechanisms of action.
Stay at the forefront of scientific innovation: identify emerging technologies, propose “moonshot” research ideas, and explore bold hypotheses.
Collaborate with the Bioinformatics and Phage Evolution teams to integrate experimental and computational discoveries.
Analyze complex datasets, document your findings, and present compelling insights to guide R&D strategy.
You are a creative, resilient, and rigorous scientist, driven by curiosity and motivated by complex biological challenges.
You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy autonomy, and are excited by the idea of translating breakthrough science into real-world applications.

At Phagos we believe the recruitment process begins from the application. This is why we invite you to take your time and thoughtfully complete our application form.
Once we select your profile, we are committed to make sure you have a positive and seamless experience !
Step #1 Screening interview with Ilias, our Head of R&D
Step #2 Technical test with Ilias
Step #3 with our co-founders
Team fit : Last but not least, you will meet 5 members of Phagos, randomly picked for a Teamfit discussion, in English as our team is international. When possible, this meeting will be held in our office in Suresnes.
Meet Natalie, Associate Research Scientist
Meet Marine, Head of Lab Ops
These companies are also recruiting for the position of “Basic and Applied Research”.
