The Payhawk customer base includes fast-growing and mature multinational companies in 32 countries including LuxAir, Quantive, and Wagestream. Our values include supporting flat hierarchies, taking ownership and responsibility, seeking and providing feedback, managing constructive critique, and speaking our minds. We understand that the best ideas don’t all come from the same place, so we encourage diversity and inclusion in all areas of our work.

The future of fintech is about more than money, and we believe in work-life balance, continual learning, and empowered teams. We’re also on a journey to measure and improve our environmental and social impact. From virtual cards to digital subscriptions, our software and automation help take paper out of the equation for our customers, too.

We’re changing the world of payments, and we’re looking for an exceptional team to help us.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Payment Operations Specialist to join our team in Sofia. You will be working closely with our Product, Engineering, Support and Implementations teams to drive operational excellence and solve payment-related issues.

  • Drive operational excellence and risk mitigation across payment processes, support customer lifecycle events with partners, and resolve card delivery issues in collaboration with Support.
  • Manage card inventory and logistics (e.g. stock, holograms, envelopes), and improve Straight Through Processing performance in partnership with Payments, Product, and Compliance teams.
  • Maintain the knowledge base of payment operations.
  • Act as a point of contact between card schemes and our banking partners.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for any payment operations projects.
  • Oversee liquidity across all settlement accounts by currency, ensuring efficient processing with all banking partners.

Requirements

  • +2 years of experience in a Payments or related role.
  • Previous experience in compliance, payments, banking, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of various payment mechanisms, including SEPA, FPS, ACH, SWIFT, and others.
  • Familiarity with card issuing protocols of major networks such as Visa.
  • Experience in a fast-scaling, high-velocity, and dynamic environment, ideally with a track record of successfully building processes from scratch.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Great communication and English language skills.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in compliance, payments, banking, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of the SaaS industry and venture-backed businesses.

Company Benefits

  • 30 days holiday paid leave.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Exchange policy to another Payhawk office (London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Sofia, Paris).
  • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home.
  • Multisport fully covered by us.
  • Regular team-wide events.
  • Additional medical care.
  • Opportunity to use the Payhawk product.
