We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance Department in Brussels, which operates in six countries with seven legal entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing accounting services, ensuring compliance, and contributing to process improvements.

Your role

Accounting Services:

• Manage accounting services for one or two legal entities.
• Act as a backup for other legal entities.
• Oversee the closing process for assigned legal entities, liaising with AR and AP coordinators to monitor company performance.
• Manage accruals, deferrals, prepaids, etc.
• Handle VAT and tax processes in collaboration with the External Tax Expert.
• Ensure compliance with administration and group requirements, including reporting.
• Assist in external and internal audit processes, addressing questions for assigned entities.
• Supervise and monitor the Profit and Loss Statement.

Reconciliation:

• Analyze specific balance sheet accounts to ensure monthly reconciliations and justified accounts.
• Perform intercompany transaction reconciliations.
• Control the overall Balance Sheet of the company.

Process Improvements and Internal Projects:

• Suggest and implement improvements within the area of responsibility, with the support of the manager.
• Identify issues and propose corrective actions.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Accountancy.
• Fluent in French with a very good knowledge of English.
• Passionate about accountancy and eager to learn more.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP and knowledge of IFRS are a plus.
• Mature individual with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Motivated, willing to learn, flexible, and open-minded.
• Reliable and responsible.
