Job description

We are a team of 14 passionate people (for now) and our project is growing fast (+8000 GitHub stars in 6 months). In order to provide the best experience when integrating MeiliSearch in every project, we are looking for a Software Developer Intern for our Integration Team.

The Integration Team’ mission:

  • Manage 25 open-sources repositories
  • Animate a very active open-source community: 15% of our code is produced by exterior contributors in 2020
  • Work on a diverse technical stack: 10 programming languages, use of web frameworks and DevOps tools…

What you’ll be doing:

As an Intern in the Integration team, your role will include:

  • Maintaining multiple projects in several languages and for different stacks,
  • Building new integration tools from scratch (probably for a famous framework like Ruby on Rails or Django),
  • Working in an open-source environment: all your work is public and you will collaborate with different contributors around the world.

As a MeiliSearch team member, you will also:

  • Help in supporting developers use MeiliSearch
  • Participate in answering the community’s questions in Slack and GitHub
  • Participate in API design and everything related to developer experience

Why you’ll enjoy working with us:

  • No promises made, but if things go well this internship might lead to a full time job,
  • We strongly value the wellness of our employees and are committed to making MeiliSearch a benevolent place to work,
  • Flexible working hours,
  • Reimbursement of 100% of transportation (only for non-fully remote employees)
  • Remote friendly organization, we have offices in Paris but you are free to work wherever you want.

Preferred experience

Our ideal profile:

Definitely necessary:

  • You are curious and like to manipulate multiple programming languages
  • You are interested in DevOps tools and Back-End stacks
  • You are self-driven and like to take initiatives,
  • Professional English (we don’t need you to be bilingual, but writing skills are a must).

Nice to have:

  • At least one previous internship in software engineering

Recruitment process

  • Please send us your resume and a quick note of why you might be a good fit for this internship.
  • If your profile fits, our HR Manager will contact you with the Integrations team manager, for a 45-60 min call to get to know each other (who you are, your background & ambitions, company culture & company ambition).
  • During a second interview with Charlotte and Samuel, from the Integrations team, we will ask you to share a technical project of your choice, and explain why it’s a project you are proud of.
  • You’ll get to meet Thomas, our Chief Operations Officer.
