Demand Planner

Travel Retail West & Emerging Hub (based in Paris)

JOB SUMMARY

Our mission is to support the development of our business in collaboration with our business teams and our clients. Our goal is to ensure the smooth running of the Supply and Demand planning process to guarantee product availability, aiming for the best customer service, at an optimal cost, and improving inventory quality. This takes place in an international environment, as our main contacts are located in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and the Americas.

Each Demand Planner is responsible for a brand portfolio (e.g., Armani, Lancôme, Valentino, Prada, YSL, Kiehl’s, La Roche Posay, L’Oréal Paris, etc.), TRWE operating for the 4 divisions. The Demand Planner plays a critical role in ensuring product availability by forecasting future demand. This involves analyzing historical sales data, Stock in trade, market trends, promotional activities, and other relevant factors to generate accurate and timely forecasts to achieve business goals.

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Forecasts Process Management:

  • Guarantee the catalog’s management and contribute to its streamlining. This means overseeing the product catalog and making it more efficient, possibly by reducing complexity or redundancy.
  • Manage the quality of sales forecasts, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of sales predictions.
  • Develop and maintain statistical forecast models for assigned product categories, incorporating historical data, seasonality, trends, and causal factors.
  • Manage the overall monthly sales forecasting process, taking charge of the entire monthly procedure for predicting sales.
  • Build the forecast for the back catalog, creating sales projections for slow movers that are still available.
  • Challenge and consolidate the sales forecasts for promotions and launches made by the sales and marketing teams. This means reviewing the sales teams’ predictions, questioning their assumptions, and combining them into a unified forecast.
  • Ensure the consistency of overall sales forecasts by driving and ensuring consensus between commercial forecasts, the financial trend, and sales history. This involves making sure all the different sales predictions align with each other and with past performance and financial expectations. Forecasts driving the trend.
  • Participate in the improvement of sales forecasting practices, together with the Business Planners, contributing to making the sales forecasting process better and more effective.
  • Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, providing critical input on demand projections and collaborating with Supply Planning to ensure balanced supply and demand.


Performance and Continuous improvement:
  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including point-of-sale (POS) data, market research, and competitor analysis.
  • Evaluate forecast accuracy and identify areas for improvement, continuously refining forecasting methodologies and processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and customer service levels.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information flow.

PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Master’s degree: Engineering or Business School with supply chain specialization
  • 3rd experience in Supply Chain
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Result oriented, ambitious, energetic & taking great ownership professional
  • Communication skills, assertiveness and ability to challenge
  • Service-oriented, operational excellence & agility
  • Understanding of customer needs and sensitivity to the cosmetics sector
