The position

Job description

MaiaSpace is a European space tech company designing, operating and commercializing space transportation solutions for small spacecrafts.

Our first and primary focus is on developing and prototyping a reusable and eco-responsible small launcher, building upon technologies and capabilities that bridge Newspace agility and Legacy space know-how thanks to MaiaSpace original identity. Safety Engineer

Working in tandem with the company's RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety) expert, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the safety requirements of space operations.

You will stand as MaiaSpace focal point for all matters governed by the FSOA (French Space Operation Act), and as such the preferred point of contact for CNES, the French space agency, for the preparation of preliminary compliance (development phase) and launch authorization applications (operational launches).

  • The safety mission file for ground (CSG - Guyana Space Center) and close-range flight,
  • The Authorization Demand (DDA) renewal, for each dedicated Launch Mission
  • Interface on a day-to-day base with our Dev/Ops teams to ensure that launcher and ground support equipment meet the applicable safety requirements.

Preferred experience

🎓Skills

  • Engineering Degree, with 5 or more years of experience in launch systems operations, in flight and/or on ground.
  • Good knowledge of French Space Laws (FSOA) and safety regulations of hazardous systems.
  • Basic knowledge of most common hazardous systems used on launch vehicles, including pyrotechnic devices.
  • Additional insight of maritime and environmental regulations would be an asset.
