SUMMARY

Performsroutine physical and metallurgical tests on prototypes and parts in research and development. Tests new products according to established procedures and takes an active part in developing new test and design validation procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:

• Performs all tests associated with Metallurgical Testing, such as preparing and examining metallurgical mounts to ensure conformance to design, performance, and quality requirements and/or specifications.

• Performs all tests associated with Mechanical Testing, such as tensile, shear, fatigue, stress durability, head ductility, installation force, and other tests to ensure conformance to design, performance, and quality requirements and/or specifications.

• Performs in-process tests on setup parts from various manufacturing operations if necessary.

• Analyzes drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.

• Ensures maintenance and calibration on all equipment and that raw materials meet specification and calibration requirements.

• Performs data calculations. Takes photo macro and micrographs.

• Assists R&D engineers by writing laboratory test reports when necessary.

• Assists in developing and writing new laboratory test procedures and work instructions.

• Report any safety violation, test equipment misusage, and/or improperly performed work to supervisor immediately.

• All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by the Federal, Local, and State governments, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

• All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.

• All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

• Supports and maintains waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as EMS and recycling opportunities to eliminate production waste.

• Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.

• Understanding of test equipments and lab procedures.

• Basic metallurgical, mechanical or physical laboratory experience.

• Completion of college level mathematics, metallographic, or mechanical engineering a plus.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Ability to perform these operations using units such as force, torque, weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

*Must be able to work 20-30 hrs per week.
$20/hr
