SUMMARY

The Threadroll Specialist maximizes advance technical skill, knowledge and ability to perform through the operation process of the Threadroll machinery for the manufacture of fasteners and special products launch for new or revised product lines. Maintain efficient and consistence practices of the factory processes, procedures, and metrology in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
.

• Proficient to perform independently and consistently sets-up, operation and maintains minimum of two (2) or more thread roll machines successfully according to detail blueprints, specifications, work orders and instructions to manufacture various types of fasteners.

• Independently selects and obtains proper material and tooling for the specific jobs.

• Proficient to perform and operates thread roll machines producing external roll threads in various types and sizes of fasteners and removes parts at the end of the machine cycles.

• Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience to maintain correct dimensions of product produced during the run process selecting correct calibrated measuring tools.

• Performs and operates polishing wheel, grinders and sandblasters.

• Determines proper die speeds, die selection and rolling cycles in order to produce parts to fulfill thread requirements.

• Proficiently sets the proper heating temperatures, adjustments, regulates and controls to detect out-of-tolerance machining or control media as required with limited guidance of supervisory or lead personnel.

• Observes, performs and adjusts the controls functions of coolant flow and machine rates.

• Recognizes and performs the corrective actions of machine malfunctioning, basic sequence of operations. Cutting action of tools and in-process inspections with minimal assistance from lead.

• Major discrepancies or malfunctions reported to supervisor or lead when machines maintenance is required or needed.

• May be required to give feedback to Manufacturing team, Engineering Team or others to document procedures and drawings.

• Represents Pins manufacturing on cross-functional teams or in-house committees.

• High degree of comprehension in troubleshooting various Thread roll machines (Waterburys, Hartfords, Saspi’s, Menn Roller, and Reed); perform minor repairs and determines action to be taken. As necessary, writes work orders on machines requiring maintenance and follows standard safety protocol.

• Checks tooling and notifies supervisor if tooling in non-conforming.

• May conduct and assist with peer development training per established departmental requirements as needed.

• Proficient levels to comprehend Routers, Standard of Operations and Operation &/or Manufacturing drawings to determine machining specifications, dimensions and requirements.

• Checks threading on test parts to assure conformance to specifications, checks for such factors as pitch, angle, length, diameter and related factors.

• Demonstrated ability to perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with output and demonstrates knowledge and use of Shop Floor Systems.

• Proficient in wide range of necessary precision measuring or gauging tools to perform inspection before start, during and completion of production run.

• Inspects parts to ensure conformation, dimension and tolerance levels with specifications and blueprints using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

• Employee to demonstrate knowledge of all Thread Roll machine types & functions in any specified area.

• Coordinate workflow to achieve priorities for the departments needs.

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

• Verifies proper placement of all safety guards and adheres to all machine procedures.

• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

• Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows all safety regulations.

• Adheres to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, practices, and procedures.

• Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

• Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times.

• Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

• Responsible for complying with ISO 14001 standards, aspects, affect as related to the HSE policy commitments.

• Reports any HSE violation, machining equipment misusage, damage and/or improperly performing work to supervisor, lead or management.

• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

• May implement and or suggest recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling, removal, and minimize production waste opportunities.

• Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
May lead teams and provide technical coaching of trainees, operators, machinist, and journey level team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1-year certificate from college or technical school.
• Working experience in fastener manufacturing environment
• Advance knowledge of all types of Thread roll machinery and procedures
• Advance technical knowledge with quality and SPC.
• A minimum of over 6 year’s equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos provided. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one, small groups, customers, clients and to employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations of measurements in whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate basic rates, ratios, and percentages as needed.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to resolve simple conflict in schedules or personnel related to tool supply or ordering. Ability to understand and follow through a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule/departmental forms.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills and departmental applications: SPC & Shop Floor System.
