Position Summary: The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is responsible for bringing a product from quote, to process development, and then into production manufacturing. In order to achieve this goal, the NPI Engineer will interact with engineering and manufacturing teams through the life cycle of the product. The NPI Engineer will also work with the sales and customer teams to improve designs and processes. The NPI Engineer will coordinate the development of a lean manufacturing process and standard operating procedures within the engineering department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for assigned product/process development through the early phases of the product life cycle.
• Collaborate with the customer and provide manufacturability feedback
• Coordinate NPI functions within the engineering department and a cross-functional team
• Develop key process variables for machining and secondary operational processes
• Develop process BOO/BOM structures within the ERP system
• Assist with the creation of NPI control plan, PFMEA, qualification, and GR&R activities
• Responsible for the first run manufacturing process and key process output variable success
• Design, document, and improve developed processes, procedures, and work instructions
• Create and execute engineering tests
• Assist in the development of CNC toolpath design and CNC programming methodology
• Design tools, fixtures, and part work-holding
• Assist with all costing and quoting functions.
• All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an associate degree with 5 years of experience in an applicable field
• Experience with CAD software.
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially Word and Excel
• Experience working within an ISO 13485 environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong cross-departmental knowledge and coordination skills
• Proficient in multi-tasking between several development activities
• Ability to travel between LISI sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts
• Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
• LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application.
• Experience with CAM software; Swiss or milling.
