PUNCH PRESS OPERATOR
Job Description Summary
Operates power-driven presses to stamp or perform other shaping operations. Operates machines until accurate production has been achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Handling of raw material to load/unload, start new coils.
• Ensure quality conformance on all presses by filling out operator inspection sheets.
• Read and understand blueprints and work instructions.
• Needs to complete daily logs and report production in ERP system.
• Use of inspection tools in checking parts.
• Communicate with supervisor to aid in production and quality.
• Functionality of press (Jog, run, stop)
• Keeping presses running thru out day in a safe manner to both the die and operator
• Maintain the department/work area clean and organized.
• Follow ISO/IATF, safety, and environmental procedures as well as department and corporate policies and procedures.
Authority
• Stop/report production if quality is not to standards and report to shift supervisor.
Job Knowledge; Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of metal stamping, a plus.
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers.
• Computer literate
• Company certification on fork lift
• Ability to read and interpret job orders and blueprints.
• Ability to comprehend and apply common sense understanding simple, oral and written instructions in the English command.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Problem Solving Skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and Training
• On the Job training, as well as formal classroom training provided (review training matrix)
