The position

Job description

Along the years we built a solid reputation with breakthrough research and intellectual property on yeast fermentation technology to develop innovative solution for nutrition and health. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic technician with great team spirit to join our team and expand our business in evaluating new concepts and products for human and animal nutrition and health, with a special focus on gut health and physiology.

A Day in the life of your new job

  • Implement and validate new protocols under the supervision of scientists.
  • Conduct microbiological analyses (bacteria culture and enumeration) and support project execution on-time.
  • After provided relevant training, carry out experiments independently, such as in vitro static and dynamic digestions (SHIME, TIM1): Nutrient bio-accessibility and probiotic survival under simulated gastro-intestinal tract conditions.
  • Consolidate, proactively communicate, and share results with team members, scientists and or managers.
  • Develop or propose new methodologies & applications with high quality documentation, electronic lab-book entry, maintenance of internal database records and written reports.

Preferred experience

What will make you successful?

  • BAC+2/3 BTS or a professional degree, BTEC Higher National Diploma, Bachelor in biology, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, nutrition & health or related disciplines are welcome, physiology knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in microbiology, human and animal physiology, and molecular biology (DNA / RNA purification, qPCR) are preferred.
  • At least one first successful experience in a research laboratory with proven track-record – in academia or industry (ideally >3-5y experience).
  • Comfortable working with various tools and equipment with associated skills to organize daily maintenance or reports.
  • Good Problem-solving skills and do-it yourself mindset are required.
  • Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills to work in a dynamic and multicultural center.
  • Able to communicate in English (spoken and written) on a day-to-day basis.
