As a MariaDB DBA at netRivals, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure seamless and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MariaDB administration, with optional experience in AWS cloud environments.

⌨️ Your main tasks would be as follows :

• Database Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain MariaDB database systems.
• Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Tuning:
• Optimize database performance through fine-tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance overall system performance.
• Security:
• Implement and enforce security best practices for MariaDB databases.
• Manage user access and permissions.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
• Test and execute database recovery plans in case of failures.
• Monitoring and Alerting:
• Set up monitoring tools to track database health and performance.
• Respond to alerts promptly and troubleshoot issues.
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to support application development and deployment.

🏹 We are looking for someone with the following experiences and skills:

• Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a MariaDB Database Administrator.
• Excellent complex SQL query knowledge and experience
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in MariaDB database administration and optimization.
• Optional: Experience with AWS cloud services, particularly RDS.
• Communication Skills:
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Problem-solving Skills:
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.
