Job description

We’re not looking for a designer.

At least, not with the same definition as many other companies.

We’re not looking for a designer who is only focused on the high-level thinking.

We’re not looking for a designer who is only focused on making things pretty.

We’re not looking for a designer who is only focused on doing research.

We’re not either looking for a designer who wants to join a large team.

We believe that building amazing products requires multiple very small teams (we call them squads) that have a lot of ownership. As small as 1 dev + 1 designer.

In our organization, the designer has a very important place:

  • The designer deeply understands our market, users, company, and product vision
  • The designer understands how to build a simple product that advanced users will love
  • The designer understands how to generate user acquisition by building a better product
  • The designer decides what the roadmap looks like (and gets challenged by the Head of Product, Design & Ops)
  • The designer creates a powerful duo/trio with his/her squad
  • The designer deeply understands the user journey and the jobs to be done
  • The designer creates stunning designs that make users addicted
  • This requires:

  • A true passion for solving problems and creating amazing product experiences. So much so, that you are willing to become one of our users.
  • Strong business acumen. You understand how Sales and Marketing work. You understand what can bring revenue and what the business should focus on. You are curious to understand what is happening in the Sales and Marketing teams. You also understand that bold decisions are often required to move the needle forward.
  • You understand psychology. You understand how to use scarcity, urgency, guarantees, motivation, friction, time delay, sacrifice, effort, dream outcome, perceived likelihood of achievement, etc.
  • Adaptation. How you’re used to building products is probably different, no company is the same. Plans can change often, it’s the life of a fast-growing company.
  • A strong willingness to learn. You probably come from a UI background and never had this role before. Or you do have over 5 years of experience. And that’s fine. If it’s something that you find super interesting, and are willing to put in the work to learn and learn fast, we’ll give you all the resources to succeed in this role.
  • Somebody very hands-on. You like to quickly design ideas on Figma to build a better picture of ideas, align and inspire your squad. You like to get things done, ship fast, and work in advance on projects to be the most efficient (even if that requires tackling 2-3 projects side by side)
  • This is not a common role.

It’s not made for everybody (and that’s fine).

If you think this is the role and environment that you’re looking for, then we should probably meet.

We value people’s work above everything else. We think the best way of assessing people is by looking at their work. Real or fake work, we don’t care. We want to see what you can ship (SaaS / Web app / Mobile app).

If you “don’t have time” to show some of your work (even a Figma), it’s probably not the right place for you.

Congrats, you read this until the end, so include the word “raspberry” in your application.

    What are you waiting for?
