About the team
At Ledger, we are in the forefront of innovation. As an Intern within our Intellectual Property team, you will be tasked with projects playing a crucial role in protecting our groundbreaking work.
Your mission:
- Assist on the management of Ledger’s IP portfolio (patents, product design, know-how…)
- Support key projects and assist on the protection and launch of new products and services
- Collaborate with R&D teams to identify and document potentially patentable inventions, with a keen eye on blockchain architectures, and Web3 applications.
- Analyze open-source licenses and contributions to understand their implications and ensure compliance.
- Draft and negotiate with the Commercial Legal Team different contracts across a broad range of areas including procurement and IP licensing
- Perform legal research tasks
- Assist on disputes and contentious matters
- Depending on the Ledger business needs, you will be prepared to jump in and support across a wide range of IP areas (specific Web3 issues, trademarks and brand protection) in an industry that is fast-paced and constantly evolving
What we’re looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent in Intellectual Property Law or New Technologies Law (with a technical background or good understanding of, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering) with a specialisation or strong interest in patents
- Previous internship experience in intellectual property, patent law, or a relevant technical field is highly desirable. Experience within a technology company or law firm specialising in patents would be a significant plus
- Demonstrable understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and open-source software development principles and various open-source licenses
- Basic understanding of Web3 technologies (e.g., blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs) is a strong advantage
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and legal concepts clearly and concisely is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- A genuine curiosity about emerging technologies
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and interact with diverse technical and legal professionals
