The position

Job description

Reporting to the Director of the LearningPlanet Alliance and working closely with the Learning Planet Institute’s communications department, you will be responsible for:

Event Management

  • Co-design, plan, and execute a variety of online events all-year round, including our annual LearningPlanet Festival, in collaboration with over 300 Alliance members globally.

  • Identify and liaise with speakers, sponsors, and partners to ensure successful event outcomes and the economic sustainability of the Alliance

  • Monitor event budgets and timelines

  • Evaluate the success of events (participant increasing, media coverage..)  and provide reports and recommendations for future initiatives

Community Building

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to foster collaboration among Alliance partners

  • Facilitate Action Groups focused on shared priorities such as youth empowerment, greening education, and local learning ecosystems

  • Manage and moderate online community spaces, particularly on Discord, to encourage active and meaningful interactions

  • Create and distribute newsletters, updates, and other communications to keep the community informed and engaged

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Actively communicate with Alliance members to understand their interests and needs, and incorporate them into event planning

  • Build and maintain relationships with more than 300 organisations around the globe

Media & News

  • Collaborate with thought leaders, practitioners, and youth to share perspectives on learning and thriving in the 21st century

  • Promote events and community activities through various media channels


Preferred experience

  • Master’s degree in Event Management, Community Development, Education, or related field

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in event management and community building

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Passion for education and social change
