For the last 14 years, LEADS TO DEVELOPMENT (L2D) has been providing consultancy, regulatory support, and operational project management services for the development of novel therapeutic products for clients across Europe and the US. L2D is a well recognized leader in this growing market sector and is based in modern, bright, and comfortable offices in Paris, France.
With a strong background in basic, translational, and clinical research, our team of 18 full-time employees provides strategic planning, hands-on project management, and regulatory support. We provide expertise for the manufacture of therapeutics, and design and manage regulatory-compliant pharmacology and toxicology studies.
To sustain the current strong growth of our internationally renowned consultancy and services company, we are recruiting an Associate Director of Business Development.
You will ensure the identification of new prospects and their progression to clients, as well as the generation of new business from existing clients, to allow the company to achieve its objectives in terms of turnover and growth. You will also oversee the company’s marketing strategy and activities. This position requires a strong knowledge of the drug development field, a deep understanding of the technical services being offered, and the ability to work hand-in-hand with the drug development team to ensure client satisfaction.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and tenacious sales-focused person to drive our services forward, to manage, develop, and expand our customer base, and increase sales. This is a very visible role that requires a combination of industry, market, and leadership skills to be successful in a fast-moving high technology environment.
The duties will be varied but you will principally:
Identify new prospects and establish contact;
Build relationships with new and existing prospects as well as with current clients to develop new medium- and long-term opportunities;
Generate new business by converting prospects into clients;
Working collaboratively with the production team, generate and execute proposals;
Ensure client contracts are up-to-date and issue amendments as required;
Track interactions with prospects and existing clients to maintain L2D’s visibility and provide business updates;
Continuously track & report the status of discussions, proposals, & negotiations;
Help define and oversee business development and marketing strategies;
Attend partnering and research-based conferences;
Expand expertise and keep abreast of trends in new drug development.
You hold at least a Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or another relevant scientific discipline;
You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development for consultancy companies or service providers within the drug development sector;
You have strong customer focus and business acumen with a demonstrated ability to generate new business;
You have outstanding English oral, written, and presentation skills, as well as a strong ability in spoken and written French;
Motivated by knowledge, you can demonstrate an analytical, conceptual, and strategic mindset;
Self-driven, independent, and responsible, you are also a confident and effective communicator, able to build confidence and trust with prospects and clients;
As a team player, you act with dynamism, flexibility, autonomy, and accountability.
Whilst embracing L2D’s high standards of business ethics and customer relationship management, you will be expected to apply innovative and efficient ways to independently identify, screen, evaluate, prioritise, and engage new prospects via multiple channels including, but not limited to, networking, company-sponsored events, conferences, LinkedIn, and email campaigns.
This will be a full-time position based in Paris (France) with opportunities for growth and promotion, with a fixed salary together with a variable performance related component.
Selected candidates will be initially invited to a short informal audiovisual call. This will be followed by a full interview with L2D’s two founders. There will also be a written task and the opportunity to present to L2D’s senior team.
