Job description

Cercle des Langues is made of 4 internal teams (Sales, Account Managers, Marketing, Pedagogy) based in Paris, and 1 external team made of teachers around the world.

To better structure our growth, we are looking to recruit a Teacher Manager for our Pedagogy team, which will work closely with the Account Management team and our CEO. You will have the following missions:

**TEACHER MANAGEMENT (50%) **

  • Teacher recruitment: Our teachers are based in various countries and continents, but they are all recruited on specific criteria, mainly their knowledge of grammar, their pedagogical skills, their good usage of digital tools. You will be in charge of coordinating the search for the best online teachers who master grammar, everyday and business English. Some teachers will be focused on B2B clients, some other teachers will be focused on B2C clients.

  • Teacher training: Being the main representant of the Cercle des Langues pedagogy (4C), you will train each new teacher to the Cercle des Langues methodology, the 4C methodology, which consists of one-to-one lessons, e-learning modules, web conferences and group lessons. This includes an initial training session prior to teaching students, but also organizing regular workshops / coachings where you can share tips with teachers in order to increase the students learning experience. Since we are a tech company, you will also train them on the digital tools they will use (Whereby, LMS, website, etc…)

  • Quality of lessons and teacher KPIs: together with our Head of Operations, you will monitor the quality of the lessons given by our teachers, identify issues and work together with the teachers to improve their pedagogical approach.

  • Group lessons: our best teachers are eligible to group lessons covering various topics (grammar, everyday, business). Your role here will be to make sure the group lessons are properly organized, from students subscription to the choice of the topic and the teaching experience.

  • Teacher questions: our teachers have frequent questions on the tools, the pedagogy, the process, the test. These questions are centralized on a dedicated email address. You will coordinate the members of our team who are in charge of answering their questions on a day-to-day basis. Your role will also be to identify the most frequently asked questions and add them into the teachers FAQ on Stonly.

  • Teacher invoices: each month, teachers send us their invoice, be it for one-to-one lessons or for group lessons for some teachers). We are paying invoices at the beginning of the next month. Your role here will be to check the invoices and pay them after validating that all the criteria are met. This mission is very punctual but requires good analytical skills and and good management of google sheets.

  • Teacher holidays: you will be in charge of reviewing the requests for holidays sent by our teachers and make sure that they comply with our holiday policy.

**PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (25%)**

  • Teachers FAQ: you role will be to continuously improve and enrich the FAQ to make sure that it is up to date and that teachers can easily find the information they are looking for. This mission requires excellent writing skills in English as well as a good command of innovative digital tools such as Stonly, Hubspot, Typeform, etc… The purpose is to create a consistent teaching experience and that each of the 170 teachers receive the same answer to a given question.

  • Teacher Newsletter: once per month, we send a newsletter to our teachers to inform them of new product developments or policy changes. You will be in charge of drafting this newsletter and sending it to the teachers.

  • Teacher space : In direct contact with the teachers, you will be able to identify the needs and work together with our web developer in order to release new functionalities that will make teacher training experience smoother and that will also increase student engagement.

**CONTENT MANAGEMENT (25%)**

  • Students questions on the e-learning platform: students’ questions vary depending on their level but also their needs. Your role here will be to coordinate the team that is going to answer specific questions, on a daily basis. This mission also requires strong analytical skills, since we need to gather feedback from students on each module or functionality, to make sure that we either adjust the modules or create new ones to fit the need.

  • Cercle des Langues test: We have designed our own test which is already available to students. However, this test needs to be updated continuously - you will be the owner of this continuous development and make sure that this test progressively comes as a reference on the market (similar to TOEIC, Cambridge, etc…)

  • Web conferences (new): On top of group lessons provided by the teachers, we also provide web conferences 2 times a week as an option for our students. As opposed to group lessons, the students won’t be able to speak during these web conferences. Indeed, the purpose of this lessons is to make sure a lot of students can subscribe. Therefore, a powerpoint will be prepared for each lesson by our teachers, and the information will mainly go from you to them (and not the contrary). These conferences will be available on replay for all current students.
