The Accounts Payable/Receivable Apprentice is an entry-level, non-permanent accounting position. The goal of an apprenticeship in Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in accounting or finance.
Requirements:
Prepare, process and load invoices to clients portals
Perform the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions
Review invoices to ensure accuracy and general compliance
Timely clear all issues assigned to you, to ensure the customer has received an accurate invoice, and has all supporting documentation to issue payment; error resolution must be logged, recorded and communicated via the instructed methods
Enter all invoices into the Accounting system accurately and in accordance with company policy/account codes
May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Analytical and detail-oriented
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Demonstrate initiative and make suggestions – key to the role.
Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others.
Willingness to work effectively both independently and on a team.
Strong Excel Spread sheets preferred
MS Office experience preferred
The apprentice will be trained to use NetSuite, Zone, SFDC and Open Air to support with cleaning up legacy data.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate students majoring in Accounting or Finance (Masters 2)
Basic computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
Communication skills and ability to follow instructions for the design of desired outcomes.
Work in a team environment as well as be self-directed task-oriented.
Work Environment
The apprenticeship is primarily performed in an office environment. The environment can be stressful at times, with deadline pressure to complete multiple priorities.
