As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will lead this function end-to-end and act as a key partner to the CFO and other senior leaders.
🎯 Your Mission
As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will be responsible for organising, steering, and securing all accounting and tax activities for the Group, while leading and developing a team of around 20 professionals.
Your mission spans four main pillars:
- Leadership & Organisation of the Accounting Function
- Lead, structure, and mentor a team covering general accounting, technical insurance & reinsurance accounting, and tax
- Act as the guarantor of French GAAP accounting and quarterly/annual closings for all French entities.
- Oversee Group accounting, coordinating all quarterly and annual closings for the Big Wakam Group under French GAAP, in close collaboration with FP&A, Technical, Risk, and Data Management teams.
- Strengthen accounting processes and controls, particularly for reinsurance recognition and monitoring.
- Statutory, Regulatory & Solvency II Reporting
- Ensure the production of French GAAP statutory financial statements for French entities.
- Oversee the preparation and quality of Solvency II regulatory reporting for French entities, in line with regulatory expectations and Group timelines.
- Responsible for the production of financial reportings as requested by various stakeholders
- Tax Management & Compliance
- Ensure that all tax returns (excluding payroll/social taxes) are prepared and filed accurately and on time, across all territories where the Group operates.
- Be the guarantor of the reliability of tax declarations (corporate income tax, VAT, insurance premium taxes such as TCA, etc.).
- Implement and maintain robust, optimised tax processes, aligned with Group governance and local regulations.
- Conduct regulatory watch on accounting and tax topics, coordinate communication to relevant teams, and drive optimisation and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Represent the Group in interactions with auditors and tax authorities during statutory audits and tax inspections.
- Transformation & Cross-Functional Projects
- Play an active role in the finance transformation roadmap, including major tool and system changes (new general ledger, consolidation tools, reporting solutions, etc.).
- Contribute your expertise to cross-functional projects that impact financial statements and financial communication at both entity and Group level.
🧠 What You Bring
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in Accounting, Consolidation, and Tax, within an insurance group or regulated financial institution.
- Proven track record in leading and structuring accounting teams, including at least several years in a Head of Accounting / Chief Accounting / Tax leadership position.
- Deep knowledge of French GAAP and strong familiarity with Solvency II reporting requirements.
- Solid experience with insurance and reinsurance technical accounting, including ceded business and related controls.
- Strong expertise in corporate taxation (CIT, VAT, insurance premium taxes / TCA, etc.) and tax process design.
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-country Group environments, ideally with consolidation exposure.
- Demonstrated experience in finance transformation projects (system change, process re‑design, automation, data quality initiatives).
- Full professional proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
