About the role We are going through and exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer (Backend) to join our Software Engineering team. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with your cross functional team to design and implement new features and products, whilst bringing ideas, energy, and leadership to the table.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable features.
• Participate in code, design, and test reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Apply DevOps practices for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Integrate applications with monitoring and support tools to ensure reliability.
• Support teammates through mentoring and sharing technical knowledge.
• Contribute to Agile team processes, helping to improve ways of working.
• Use data-driven methods to test assumptions and iterate on product features.
• Provide and receive constructive feedback to continuously raise software standards.
• Troubleshoot issues across the development lifecycle and support ongoing improvements.
• Explore and recommend new technologies to enhance team capabilities.

What you’ll bring

Skills and Experience

• Strong professional experience with Java and Spring Framework
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines
• Understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, unit/integration testing)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

Nice to have

• Experience with Kotlin
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace
• Experience with ATG, Commercetools
