Job description

We are looking for an Events and PR Manager to bring the Jus Mundi brand to life for our prospects, clients, and partners. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role is central to driving Jus Mundi’s market presence and reputation.

Events: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in running international events in B2B and a proven record of raising the bar through events. With an ability to think beyond traditional and tactical execution, this role is an opportunity for a proactive and innovative event professional.

Whether owned, sponsored, online or physical -you’ll be responsible from strategy through to execution. From research to conception to finding speakers to budget reconciliation to ROI tracking… this role will align Jus Mundi’s events with marketing, PR strategy, and business goals.

In the long term, Jus Mundi also wants to set up a business unit from scratch dedicated to running paid events all around the world (paid conferences for legal industry).

PR: the person will do internal and external coordination to handle Jus Mundi’s PR. (interviews, quotes, pitching stories, inviting journalists to our events, managing relationships). You’ll collaborate with the content marketing manager to produce PR content and the social media manager to publish PR content. You will brainstorm the PR strategy with the head of marketing.

  • Detail-oriented. An active listener who is able to multitask across many areas (e.g., logistics, facilities, decor, catering, entertainment, communications, reporting, etc.) and delve into the nitty-gritty details.
  • Flexible and Innovative: You’re not afraid to try and learn new things. You’re calm in critical situations and find the best solution possible. You have an innovative approach to raise the bar of events!

Preferred experience

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to deliver on the events strategy for the rest of 2021.
  • Research, identify, and deliver events & PR strategy that is the best fit for Jus Mundi for 2022 and beyond.
  • Produce, manage, and meet objectives in all stages of event planning, good events calendar, design, and production, including conference sponsorships (virtual and in-person), partner, industry, client, and prospect events, webinars, as well as field events support.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with outside vendors internationally.
  • Work with sales and customer success to define goals, target attendees, and ensure that events attract a wide audience among our key customers and prospects.
  • Act as the onsite marketing lead at events to complete setup, provide support and ensure everything runs on time.
  • Manage events marketing campaign & post-event communication.
  • Conduct pre-and post-event evaluations, track ROI, and produce post events reports.
  • Manage the budget for events & maintain a clear record of all expenses.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelors in Event Management, Marketing, PR or related field.
  • 2+ years in an event, project management or similar roles.
  • Fluent communication skills in English & French both verbal and written.
  • Impressive references and event portfolio, within B2B, or legal tech.
  • Experience with event/marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Sendinblue etc.).
  • Basic marketing ops skills, such as events campaign creation, defining email lists, setting up event programs.
  • Solid understanding of insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations associated with event production.
