Job description

HOLLIS & BEAN is looking for a Senior Editor to lead editorial excellence within the agency and create high quality content for clients.

The Senior Editor will act as one of the agency’s primary authorities on editorial best practice, ensuring the highest standards across a large portion of the content produced. They will consistently edit the work of agency team members (e.g., internal and external communications, thought leadership, white papers, video scripts, social media posts, trade publication articles, presentations, etc.), while also managing some editorial-driven client projects of their own.

Agency responsibilities include:

  • Leading editorial excellence within the agency

  • Collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure content aligns with strategic objectives

  • Acting as the editor-in-chief for the agency’s editorial projects

  • Providing guidance to the agency’s editorial project managers in their writing projects

  • Maintaining and strengthening the skills of the editorial team by organizing training sessions and “best practice” workshops

  • Driving continuous improvement in editorial quality and team performance through regular feedback and process optimization

  • Refining and coordinating the agency’s freelance strategy: identifying external resources, developing their skills and ensuring the editorial team collaborates with the right partners on the right projects

Client work includes:

  • Developing strategic recommendations for clients’ messaging, ensuring alignment with their business objectives and industry best practices.

  • Researching and synthesizing complex industry information.

  • Producing high-value written content (e.g. executive thought leadership, corporate video scripts, speeches, elevator pitches…)

Preferred experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in editorial management/production, preferably in B2B or technical industries

  • Masters degree  in journalism / communications / humanities / social sciences

  • Native-level English proficiency with razor-sharp editing and proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to research and synthesize industry-specific information quickly and accurately

  • Experience coordinating with editorial teams and freelancers

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects

  • Enthusiasm for learning about new topics and industries

  • Experience with internal and external communications, thought leadership, social media, video scripting and content creation for multinational clients is preferred

  • Industry expertise in the areas of shipping and trading, building materials, trade insurance and pharmaceutical industries is highly valued

If you combine a passion for great storytelling with an eye for rogue commas, crave variety in your work and want a hand in driving projects with global impact and reach, we’d love to hear from you.
