The position

Job description

Within the International Controlling department, the International controller will be integrated in the Europ Assistance country controlling community in the Europ Assistance (EA) finance area. The International Controlling team is in charge of Financial Planning & Analysis activities, overseeing both the controlling of the 30+ EA Management Countries and the controlling of IT spend (Cash & P&L) for the whole EA Group. The team is composed by 4 International Controllers; each of them is covering a portfolio of 5 to 10 EA Management Countries (depending on their respective sizes & complexities) and 1 dedicated Controller focusing on IT controlling, with transversal scope.

Mission & responsibilities of the International controller:

-          Support & review of FBP submissions, as well as Actuals closings & previews (including comparison with Budget / last Forecast and previous exercises)

-          Establishment of Target Letters / BSCs / re-baselinening

-          Coordination in Country Clearances and Technical Deep-Dives + support in QBR preparation

-          Ad-hoc support in the financial analysis of Entity strategic projects (in coordination with the Strategic Business Partners)

-          Reporting to other EA central teams (Product Line, Finance, EA SA CFO, Risk, Insurance, GMC, etc.)

-          Support to Group reporting (Clearance, Technical DD, etc.) for EA Entity-related topics (in strong coordination with the Strategic Business Partners)

-          Support Controlling dashboard and documentation


Preferred experience

The individual in the role must have:

-          The knowledge of the main Property & Casualty Insurance aspects for general expenses

-          Strong decision-making, analytical and problem solving capabilities.

-          Strong strategic and methodological thinking mindset and be extremely detail oriented

-          Ability to drive for results through cross-functional and international interactions.

-          Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, resilience to stress and failure

-          Advanced project management, facilitation and leadership skills

-          Superior verbal and written communication skills in an international environment.

-          Pro-active behavior and strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and other team members.

-          Capacity to create positive work environment

-          Ability to communicate fluently in English is required. 

The candidate needs to have a master’s degree in economics and Business management.

A work experience of at least 5 years in similar Finance operating roles within Insurance companies or consulting firms is required.
