Job Description

The Data Protection Intern will support the Group Data Protection Officer and the Data Protection team in ensuring the consistent application of data protection principles across all entities of the Europ Assistance Group.

The intern will contribute to the promotion of a privacy culture, assist in operational activities, and help maintain compliance with applicable data protection regulations.

Responsibilities:

Support to Group DPO Activities

  • Assist in the dissemination of best practices and in promoting a “privacy by design” culture within the organization.

  • Contribute to the development, update, and organization of procedures, guidelines, and template documents relating to data protection.

  • Support the team in addressing personal data protection questions raised by internal stakeholders

Operational Compliance Activities

  • Help monitor compliance with GDPR and internal data protection rules across entities.

  • Participate in maintaining the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and gathering information from relevant business teams.

  • Support the review and follow‑up of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

Monitoring, Reporting, and Controls

  • Assist in preparing privacy dashboards and tracking KPIs.

  • Contribute to annual control plan activities and the follow‑up of remediation actions at both national and international levels.

Support to Incident & Request Handling

  • Assist in the documentation and coordination of data breach management procedures.

  • Support the handling of data subject requests (DSRs).

Preferred Experience

Master’s program (Law, Compliance, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field).

  • Basic understanding of GDPR and data protection principles.

  • Interest in compliance, risk, or audit topics.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information with attention to detail.

  • Good writing skills and ability to assist in drafting guidance materials.

  • Organizational skills enabling multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, knowledge of any additional languages (French, Italian) will be considered as an advantage.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
