The position

Job description

We are looking for a Head of Legal Engineering to build with us this underside of the iceberg where we need to navigate and comply with European Legal & Regulatory framework while always pushing the innovation to unlock this market! The legal dimension is taken very seriously by the Founders.

Your responsibilities as Head of Legal Engineering :

  • Structure the legal & regulatory approach to enable social, seamless & innovative co-investments for each asset class targeted (Start-up (Deal by Deal - solo GP fund), Venture Capital, Private Equity).
  • Ensure a continuous legal watch to identify opportunities for innovation and ensure we are always at the edge of what is feasible.
  • Be actor of the change and feed our learnings and suggestions back to lawmakers - to be lobbied all over Europe to unlock private market investments.
  • Support obtention of required regulatory agreement (e.g. AIFM).
  • Select & manage day to day relation with lawyers.
  • Work closely with product team to secure compliance & tax efficient solutions across Europe.
  • Structure and grow the Roundtable legal team.
  • Ensure day to day legal topics of the company (e.g., Compliance, HR, Corporate, IP, Tax).

As an early employee and all along the life of the company your role will be at the center of Roundtable’s strategy.

Preferred experience

  • Experience: you have 5+ experience in law firms with at least a strong expertise in one of the following domains: regulatory, tax, corporate/m&a, litigation.
  • Generalist: you are an excellent generalist lawyer with the ability to explore other fields than your initial field of expertise.
  • Interest: you have experience or a genuine interest in private investment and the venture capital /private equity world.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in fast-paced environments where you have broad responsibilities.
  • Ownership mentality: you are a doer and have a bias for action, no task is below you.
  • Organization skills: you know how to prioritize and split your tasks efficiently.
  • Team player: you enjoy sharing and learning from each other.
  • Initiative and innovation: you have a strong willingness to make thing change and you don’t hesitate to challenge and suggest new practices.
  • Abstraction ability: you are able to step back and rethink our model globally.
  • Strong attention to details: you are able to rigorously manage processes involving multiple. documents to collect and stakeholders to handle.
