Our clean, efficient Enzymatic DNA Synthesis (EDS) technology, implemented on a benchtop instrument (the SYNTAX), accelerates innovation in life science and biotechnology through the decentralization of rapid, on demand and high quality DNA synthesis.

This is an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join an international and highly skilled team, and to make significant contributions to commercializing a technology with far-reaching potential across the biological sciences and beyond.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software components for instrument control software and Console web application.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of user interface workflow and usability based on internal and external user feedback.
  • Be the technical reference on instrument control Software.
  • Participate in software architecture and code reviews.
  • Help QA team with software testing (on instrument and in simulation).
  • Support field service engineers with debugging activities.
  • Collaborate with other teams of various disciplines to define requirements, designs and tests.
  • Contribute to internal and external documentation.
  • Help with deployment and other DevOps activities.
  • Manage individual project responsibilities, deadlines and deliverables.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A bachelor's in computer science, engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong experience with object programming languages.
  • Strong experience developing test methods, test simulation and test automation using the latest technologies.
  • Knowledge of software architecture & design principles.
  • Experience in Biotechnology is a significant plus.
  • Experience in development of embedded systems or automation is a significant plus.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in our technology stack: C++, Typescript, React, NestJS

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with web development.
  • Familiarity with Python for scripting & utilities.
  • Familiarity with MQTT & Protobuffers.
  • Use of modern source code management (SCM) tools (preferably Git).
  • Ability/Interest in managing interns, contractors and future team members.
