The role

We are looking for a full-time Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team at DNA Script, in its French office based in Paris (Kremlin-Bicêtre).

The role consists of providing support on various legal matters, under the supervision of our Head of Legal (based in France), and in close relationship with our sales, finance, marketing and intellectual property teams. This opportunity includes working on a wide range of topics, from contractual topics related to our operations, to research with respect to regulation in the biotech field, or various other legal matters (incl. labor law, GDPR, domain names, corporate law, legal ops, etc..

Our ideal candidate is a creative, and practical thinker who’s willing to interact with the different departments of DNA Script. This person will show proactivity in his day-to-day work, and interest in new technologies including biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of templates or contracts for DNA Script, including supplier and customer contracts
• Help build a legal culture with the different teams (research & development, product development, supply chain, marketing, sales, etc.)
• Help organizing and automating contractual processes (with a legal tech)
• Assist in the management of contract documentation workflows, approvals, reporting and archiving consistently with internal processes
• More generally, DNA Script being a scale up company, we also expect the junior lawyer, as part of the legal team, to be flexible and to jump in on other topics and help other team members on other areas as the need may arise from time to time

Qualifications and experience

• Bac+5 in Law School (university or lawyers school).
• At last 2/3 years’ experience in law firms, companies, start-ups.
• Experience in start-up strongly appreciated
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English
• Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation with a good understanding of intellectual property related issues. GDPR knowledge is a plus!
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrates abilities to be organized and knows how prioritize and multitask while being able to report to the Head of Legal efficiently.
• Demonstrated interest in new technologies and life science / biotech related matters.
