Dfns is a cybersecurity company that builds custody SaaS protocol for web3 apps. Think of it as a developer tool that provides secure cloud for crypto. Our mission is to bring serenity to DeFi by eliminating new blockchain risks and making crypto transactions easier, faster, more affordable, and compliant with existing regulations.

From fintechs to large banks to e-commerce sites, Dfns gives financial institutions and businesses the freedom to own and transfer crypto on a battle-designed security infrastructure. Our API is designed to offer best-in-class developer experience allowing any platform to deploy custodial wallets in a matter of days, with streamlined feature delivery and frequent security upgrades.

Job Description

You will contribute to one of the most ambitious technology projects in crypto today: building a trustless custody infrastructure for the trillion-dollar digital asset industry.

You will join an amazing team of leaders (CTO, COO, CISO) and experts (Head of People, Software Engineers, Security Engineers) in a highly challenging and collaborative environment.

We are looking for an efficient IT Security Manager to oversee our company’s hardware, software and computer networks. Your responsibilities include monitoring network infrastructure and resolving system issues. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable.

As IT Security Manager, you will be analyzing our current systems and assets, recommending and implementing solutions and upgrades, and providing training. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network maintenance, experience managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.

Your primary goal will be to empower the company's staff with IT security, high availability and stellar network performance levels to pursue their missions.

Your day-to-day projects will involve:

  • Acting as a powerhouse of ideas on all IT and security issues.
  • Building, operating, and ensuring the security of the company, namely by handling business-critical IT and systems administration tasks.
  • Maintaining essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
  • Tracking and maintaining hardware and software inventory.
  • Analyzing department needs, identifying vulnerabilities, and boosting productivity, efficiency and accuracy to inform business decisions.
  • Ensuring network components meet needs and work together seamlessly, using the full range of capabilities, and staying informed about new features and competitive solutions.
  • Preparing cost-benefit analysis when upgrades are necessary, continuously analyzing vendors to ensure they offer the best possible service and value for company needs.
  • Running the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
  • Ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance.
  • Authoring and updating internal and external documentation.
  • Facilitating cross-team communication and know-how exchange between team members.
  • Implementing IT best practices and new ideas to encourage innovation within your team.
  • Working closely with CISO to embed best-in-class information security processes within the corporate policies, processes, and internal workflows.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest developments in crypto, DeFi and blockchain to feed the company's strategic orientations.
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and propose changes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience as an IT Security Manager or similar role.
  • Proven track record working on developer tools and/or cybersecurity software.
  • Engineering expert capabilities of challenging the reasoning of other engineers.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and setting up environments between them.
  • Experience with operating systems (MS Exchange, Active Directory, and other Windows systems), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring.
  • Good at proactively to spotting problems, improvements, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Knowledge of information security management systems and relevant industry standards (ISO, SOC, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving competences in respect to other stakeholders.
  • Humble, respectful, and very professional to others.
  • Able to decide even in stressful, unstable situations.
  • Appetite for Cybersecurity, Fintech, Blockchain and/or Crypto industries.

Benefits

  • Title: IT Security Manager
  • Salary: €80-180K / year (avg base range).
  • Equity: 0.1-0.3% (≈ €3.6-10.8M in case of €2B exit).
  • Bonus: Peer and spot bonuses after 8 months with us.
  • Location: Hybrid. You can either work in our offices, from home, or remote.
