Job description

We are seeking an exceptional, seasoned leader to drive business development and partner management across North America as our new Vice President of Partnerships. This executive will spearhead our partnership-first growth strategy in the region, forging transformative alliances that will accelerate subscriber growth and revenue in our largest growth market. 

The ideal candidate brings an extensive track record of cultivating senior executive relationships and negotiating complex, high-value enterprise deals in digital media, streaming, gaming, consumer electronics and connected technology industries. As the head of Partnerships for North America, you will be a key leader of the Deezer Partnerships organization, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our current corporate strategy and future growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the overarching North America partnership strategy in collaboration with the c-level and executive team, translating it into actionable roadmaps and business plans
  • Oversee origination, evaluation, negotiation and execution of strategic partnerships with industry leaders across sectors including media & entertainment, gaming, telecom, retail, automotive, connected fitness and more
  • Manage a deal pipeline which will include complex contract negotiations with partners and all key stakeholders involved, both internally and externally, alongside or through a deal team
  • Drive a best-in-class partner management team to maximize value for both Deezer and its partners
  • Directly engage C-suite executives and decision-makers to evangelize Deezer's value proposition and catalyze opportunities 
  • Quarterback cross-functional deal teams, ensuring seamless coordination across the organization to structure, close and implement partnerships
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of business development and partner management professionals
  • Establish KPIs and reporting cadence to track partnership funnel and revenue contribution
  • Serve as a member of the Global Partnerships leadership team and head of our North America office
  • Embody Deezer's core values and be an ambassador in the Americas for our global team

Preferred experience

  • Minimum of 15+ years' experience in business development, partner management or partnerships roles in digital subscription services, digital retail, gaming, digital media, enterprise technology, with at least 5+ years in executive leadership roles
  • Platform or Product Partnerships Experience preferred
  • Expertise in the digital entertainment streaming space with existing senior level industry relationships is preferred but not necessary. Also seeking expertise in the enterprise space with existing senior level industry relationships.
  • Repeated success negotiating and closing 8 and 9-figure deals, strategic alliances, joint ventures, IP licensing, corporate development, product integration and enterprise partnerships
  • Ability to lead a team, influence cross-functionally and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong general management skills with P&L ownership experience
  • Experience working alongside product, engineering and tech teams in a business role preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • High-level of autonomy, self-organization and prioritization abilities 
  • Analytical and collaborative mindset, comfortable working in remote team settings
  • Management of a regional team (4-5 people to start)
