Java Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) - Customer Growth

The Decathlon Login team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in our lovely new Amsterdam office - The Login team is the gateway to every customer user journey. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Login team, you will be working to ensure that we are providing a best-in-class user experience (as well as performance and security) to our customers.

Some past/upcoming projects include:

  • Adding QR code based authentication to make it super easy and quick to login.
  • Expanding the login systems to multi-tenancy to improve speed and availability.
  • Extending the session length of our logged in users to reduce occurrences of needing to sign in again.

About The Team/Tech:

  • Based in France and the Netherlands.
  • Tech Stack: GIT, Java (Spring/Springboot framework), Postgres, Kubernetes
  • Team Comms: Slack 🎉

Your Responsibilities

  • Work closely with your engineering and product managers to help develop a healthy, diverse, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company's values.
  • Work with the Product Manager to carefully assess the technical feasibility of feature requests
  • Identify ways to deliver complex technical projects in an iterative fashion (building POCs)
  • Help in recruiting other new team members both in Login and other Customer Growth teams 🎉
  • Support and mentor junior engineers.

What You Need to be Successful

  • 5+ years experience as a software engineer
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Good command of software development best practices (design patterns, testable code, BDD or TDD).
  • Interest in cybersecurity, encryption, OWASP Top 10 etc.

Nice to Have

  • Use the “Accelerate” principle to ensure responsibility and improve the performance of the delivery.
  • Knowledge in OpenID Connect (OIDC).
  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container systems.
  • Experience with observability setups (datadog etc).
