Decathlon PULSE covers M&A, VC & New Business activities with teams including Vertical strategy leaders, investment professionals and supporting experts (digital, sustainability, legal, …).

INTERNSHIP MISSION

As an intern, you will report to the Vertical Strategy Leader. 

Your primary role will be to assist him/her throughout the entire investment process, from the ideation phase to the management of the deal flow. You will develop an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the sports market and other relevant markets and actively contribute to the investment decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

I Development the Investment Theses:

• Contribute to the research and analysis for the organisation and drafting of the investment theses.
• Participate in the analysis of market trends, growth drivers, and potential risks.
• Assist in the logical structuring and clear presentation of analytical conclusions.

II Target Identification:

• Conduct thorough research to identify potential investment targets and opportunities in the relevant markets.
• Analyze key players, their strategic positioning, and financial performance.
• Contribute to the creation of "long lists" and the prioritization of targets.

III Understanding Market Dynamics:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret macroeconomic, sector-specific, and company-specific data within the sports industry.
• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, technological innovations, and consumer trends impacting the markets.
• Participate in competitive intelligence and the analysis of business models.

IV Deal Flow Management Support:

• Assist in tracking and organizing investment opportunities (deal flow).
• Participate in the collection and documentation of information related to potential transactions.
• Contribute to the preparation of presentations and reports for the investment team.

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business;
• Fluent in French and in English;
• Strong interest in the sport industry and in the circular economy; 
• Strong inclination for data analysis, market intelligence, and quantitative and qualitative research;
• Proficiency Excel preferred and control google docs and slides and comfortable handling large databases.
