Job Description

Decathlon is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Science & Analytics Manager to lead our Data purchase & performances team within the Industry department of the Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing data teams. A plus, to have knowledge in transforming purchase domain.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi competences team of Data Scientists, BI Engineers, Data governance, Data Analysts.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for costing optimization, purchase risk management.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data science methodologies and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, Product, Engineering, Data) to understand business and technical requirements and prioritize data projects accordingly
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.

Hard Skills

  • AI modeling and productionizing
  • Extensive experience in Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Familiarity with database systems and querying languages (e.g., SQL) for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain concepts, including panel management, relationship management, performance management and risk management.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex business challenges.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, data analysis, statistical modeling, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of data professionals.
  • Previous experience in purchase, retail or e-commerce industry is a plus.
