Responsibilities:

As a Darewise Technical Animator, you will create and maintain advanced animation systems in Unreal Engine 4, ensuring the good integration of the animations in relation with our gameplay mechanics.

You will work as a bridge between animators, designers and programmers to build original and unique features.
Our project is an ambitious third-person, open world, social adventure, set in a brand new Sci-Fi universe.

Preferred experience

Qualifications:

  • Open to applications from all levels (junior, intermediate, senior)
  • Proven past experience in the games industry
  • Expert knowledge of the animation systems in Unreal Engine 4 (Blend Tree, State Machines, Layered and Additive animations, Montage and Slots, float curves…)
  • Strong understanding of the pipeline for Skeletal Meshes in Unreal, (Skeleton asset, Physics Asset…)
  • Keen interest for gameplay mechanics and game design in general
  • Basic keyframe animation skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of rigging and skinning for the humanoids and creatures
  • Self-motivated and autonomous, you can create and update your own tasks in JIRA and give time estimates
  • Positive, collaborative and professional attitude while working under multiple deadlines
  • Strong English and communication skills
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, France

Also nice to have:

  • Knowledge of how multiplayer games and networking work (Client, Server, Replicas…)
  • Scripting knowledge is a huge plus (python, blueprint…)
  • Knowledge of MotionBuilder, or equivalent animation package (Maya, Biped…)
  • Experience with Motion Capture (setting up, editing, directing actors)
  • Knowledge of editing software (Premiere)
  • Life drawing skills
