Job description

Back Market is the world’s leading refurbished electronics marketplace with a team of 650 people, powering operations in 21 countries (and counting!).

Named one of the World's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company in 2019 and again in 2021, our mission is simple: empowering people to consume tech sustainably by offering folks a high quality, accessible, and more eco-friendly alternative to buying new electronics. Why? Refurbished tech helps lower our collective environmental impact. We have indeed contributed to avoid the production of more than 1,000,000 tons of CO2e worldwide since our launch in 2014.

Be part of an exciting and growing international adventure that will change the way the world consumes tech.

Join the dynamic APAC team at Back Market, where we spearhead the company's expansion and revenue growth in the APAC region. We're at the forefront of creating and executing geographical and category-specific strategies that champion our global ambitions. Our objective? To craft a superior customer journey that positions refurbished products as a formidable rival to brand-new purchases in APAC. We're a team that's agile, ambitious, unafraid of making mistakes, and committed to innovative thinking. We aim to redefine how consumers in APAC perceive and purchase tech products.

As the APAC Market Expansion Intern, you will operate under the guidance of the Head of Growth APAC. Your focus will be on expanding our presence in South Korea, Japan, and Australia. A significant part of your role involves ensuring both our sellers and buyers receive an experience that's at par with, or even superior to, purchasing brand-new products. This encompasses everything from the initial product search and purchase to timely delivery, product quality assurance, and impeccable after-sales service.

Your Mission (If You Accept It):

  • Collaborate with our Head of Marketing APAC to define Back Market's brand identity and messaging, ensuring it resonates with the local audience.
  • Formulate the category management strategy in tandem with the sales team, ensuring we offer the most desirable inventory for our customers.
  • Partner with the Head of Product APAC to tweak and localize user experiences.
  • Oversee critical Customer Satisfaction metrics such as Contact Rate, On-Time Delivery, Return Rate, and Post-Purchase Satisfaction Rate. You will also take the lead on projects aimed at enhancing these KPIs.
  • Design and implement processes for collecting customer feedback. Ensure continuous insights from customers to prioritize projects effectively.
  • Assist the Customer Manager to serve as the primary liaison for Korean consumers, addressing their inquiries swiftly and comprehensively, while upholding the Back Market ethos.
  • You’re At The Right Place If:

  • Looking for a 6-month internship
  • English and Korean are no-brainers (fully professional capability). If you’re extra cool and speak more languages, bonus points for you!
  • You have at least one international experience - either studying, working abroad, or working for an international company in Korea.
  • You have a first experience as a consultant, business analyst or project manager in a Korean or international company.
  • You thrive in a fast-moving environment, within an agile environment.
  • You want to work in an international environment, for one of the biggest European startup companies.
  • About this internship:

    - Starting date in January 2024

    - Duration 4 to 6 months

    - Location: Paris, France

--> You must have an internship agreement provided by your school.

    Recruitment Process:

    - Be in an environment where you can make a difference: you will have the freedom to innovate and adopt new ideas!

    - A booming scale-up: our environment is rapidly growing in Europe, the USA and in Asia!

    - We embrace work life balance which includes flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home.

    - A lot of fun: you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, open-minded and friendly environment.
