Head of Business Engagement (APAC & Europe)

As AXA XL continues to invest in its end-to-end capabilities, the Head of Business Engagement will ensure effective coordination across businesses and functions.  The Head of Business Engagement will play a pivotal role in aligning our business objectives with key partners and stakeholders. This position will be responsible for cultivating relationships, identifying synergies, drive change successfully throughout the organization.  

The Head of Business Engagement will serve as the primary liaison between business and the Engagement Leads for Transformation Change and Delivery.  The role will involve identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships, and driving business value while ensuring a holistic sharing of information and knowledge across all represented functions and BUs.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

The Head of Business Engagement  will be responsible to:

-          Lead and mentor the Business Engagement team, focusing on relationship management with stakeholders and maximized value creation

-          Drive holistic sharing of information and knowledge building across the engagement function

-          Develop and implement engagement strategies that are aligned with the company’s business objectives and maximizes value to stakeholders.  Drive function’s evolution from problem solving to strategic partner

-          Provide guidance to team on technical topics and drive resolution on transversal engagement topics

-          Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across various businesses and functions. 

-          Depending on company priorities, assume engagement lead responsibilities for specific areas, which includes being the strategic, but challenging partner to business units and/or functions

-          Establish and oversee reporting and analytics to measure the effectiveness of business engagement initiatives

-          Coordinate with internal teams to execute and deliver on projects

-          Ensure effective prioritization and delivery of critical large-scale initiatives.  Drive resolution of cross-functional dependencies across the project portfolios

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

-          Experience in managing large scale programs (15 years+), preferably in the insurance industry

-          Proven stakeholder management skills to influence and impact, at both programme and individual project level

-          Previous experience in strategy consulting will be of advantage

-          Ability to quickly switch between different issues or projects with conflicting priorities

-          Excellent organizational and time management skills, communication and presentation skills

-          Strong ability to multi-task across a number of initiatives.

-          Ability to develop and implement best practice and framework methodologies. 

-          Strong business acumen, coupled with technology knowledge and expertise in software development life cycle

-          Strong interpersonal and collaborations skills to drive alignment with various functional/BU stakeholders

-          Strong negotiation skills, influence and creativity to achieve successful outcomes around scope, schedule, costs/budget, issues/risks, and resources.

-          Knowledge and preferably prior experience in working in an Agile environment

-          Experience in Managing, coaching, and mentoring senior leaders and team members to ensure leads and their teams are held accountable

-          Ability to deal with change effectively with familiarity of the entire working process
