The Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Domain’s mission is to help nature proponents (public and/or private) attract more fundings and accelerate their projects through de-risking solutions, from climate insurances to consulting services.

In close cooperation with the Domain Leader, the Consultant will contribute to developing AXA Climate’s recognition in the Nature field by driving business development and through direct contributions to consulting missions based on AXA Climate’s transversal expertise.

Main Mission The Consultant will contribute to the continued success of AXA Climate by supporting ongoing deals and business development around NbS. This encompasses collaboration with private project developers, international institutions, partners and other members of the ecosystem. More specifically, the consultant will contribute to:

• Conduct consulting mission for nature-based actors under the supervision of the Domain Leader (Impact analysis, Physical risks modelling, CBA study, Insurance design)

• Identify funding mechanisms (grants, loans, others) from public agencies / development bank who have a dedicated entity on Nature. Identify the modalities and requirements, and best use according to project profiles

• Work closely with the underwriting team responsible for AXA Climate’s impact insurance to build innovative product for Nature, in particular in the forestry and ocean space.

• Expected Results The Consultant will contribute to the growth of the Domain’s business by:

  1. Supporting on existing concrete deals and new consultancy projects

  2. Maintaining good relationships with our existing NbS partners

  3. Identifying new potential public partners and supporting discussions leading to new cooperations with AXA Climate

Experience / Background:

• Master level from top 5 French Business / Engineering school or international equivalent.

• Previous experience / internship in consulting or biodiversity is a plus.

• Training in environmental / biodiversity topics is an advantage.
