Job description

The team you’re joining…

You are joining Apiday’s tech team as a Senior Full Stack Developer in one of our two squads. Your mission is to empower users to improve their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) collection and performance through actionable insights and AI driven workflows. Each squad is composed of a product manager, a product designer and three full-stack senior developers.

As an ambitious impact startup, Apiday is dedicated to making sustainability data more accessible, standardized, and actionable. Our squad plays a crucial role in enabling organizations to monitor, report, and improve their ESG metrics.

We believe in giving our engineers full ownership of the problem-solving process. Our philosophy is simple: those who build the solution should also define it. We have an incredible team structure where product managers and designers work with you, not above you, so that together we can create intuitive and impactful solutions. We work in short cycles, focusing the entire team on delivering in-production, tested solutions week by week.

When you arrive, your mission is to:

  • Quickly design, develop, and deploy complex features across both front-end and back-end in less than a week.

  • Partner with product managers and designers to deeply understand customer problems and propose thoughtful, user-friendly solutions.

  • Elevate team’s capacity through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

  • Lead refactoring efforts to improve the modularity, performance, and scalability of the codebase.

Your means to success

  • You will be onboarded by experienced developers, gaining deep insights into our tech stack and best practices.

  • We’ll make sure you gain a thorough understanding of client issues by providing access to customer interviews and detailed feedback summaries from our customer satisfaction team, giving you the context to propose and build well-informed, effective solutions.

  • Regular tech team meetings keep us aligned and collaborative. We have daily check-ins for the current sprint, weekly strategy sessions to plan the next, and retrospectives to continuously improve our efficiency.

Preferred experience

Prerequisites:

  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer, with significant experience building both front-end and back-end features.

  • At least one significant experience with Python (Django or Flask) and JavaScript frameworks (Next.js, React).

Key qualities:

  • Autonomous and proactive: You can lead projects and make decisions without needing constant oversight.

  • Pragmatic: You balance the need for high-quality code with the demands of fast-paced project delivery.

  • Team player: You’re excited to mentor junior developers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

  • User-centric: You have a natural inclination toward building beautiful and intuitive user interfaces.

Recruitment process

  • Screening call (30min, HR / consultant)

  • Fit interview (1hr30min minutes, Head of Engineering)

  • Technical interview (1hr at home + 45mn live, CTO)

  • Focus interview (1hr, other team members - product, design, etc.)

  • Reference calls (with people you worked with in the past)
