Job description

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing  €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

As a deeptech scale-up, we’re moving beyond the lab and into the market—scaling our technology, our team, and our impact.

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to the COO—someone who can bridge the gap between vision and execution, ensuring that our ambitious goals translate into tangible results.

This role is for those who enjoy working behind the scenes to make things happen, who find satisfaction in solving problems before they arise, and who want to play a pivotal role in shaping a company’s trajectory

As Chief of Staff to the COO, you will be the catalyst between strategy and execution. You’ll work closely with the COO to align priorities, drive key initiatives, and ensure seamless execution across the organization.

You will be ensuring that our strategic goals are met with clarity, efficiency, and purpose.

This role is ideal for those who thrive in connecting the dots, removing roadblocks, and enabling the team to focus on what matters most.

If you’re someone who values impact over title, execution over process, and collaboration over hierarchy, we’d love to connect.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution & Alignment
  • Translate vision into action: Work with the COO to break down high-level goals into executable roadmaps, KPIs, and cross-functional projects.
  • Prioritize and drive initiatives: Lead special projects from ideation to execution. (fundraising topics, organisation topics…)
  • Align teams: Ensure cohesion between Tech & Growth departments to meet aggressive growth targets.
  • Optimized Operations
  • Streamline processes: Identify bottlenecks in workflows, communication, or decision-making, and implement solutions to keep the team moving forward.
  • Build systems: Introduce tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve collaboration, transparency, and efficiency.
  • Anticipate challenges: Stay ahead of potential roadblocks, whether they’re technical or operational, and proactively address them.
  • COO Office
  • Act as a force multiplier: Help the COO focus on what matters most by filtering noise, preparing for key meetings, and ensuring follow-through on decisions.
  • Act as a thought partner: Provide insights, analysis, and recommendations to inform strategic choices.
  • Represent the COO: Step in as a trusted proxy in internal and external discussions, ensuring consistency and clarity.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Bridge gaps: Facilitate collaboration between technical teams (e.g., R&D, engineering) and business functions (e.g., sales, finance, HR).
  • Build culture: Help cultivate a collaborative, results-driven environment where teams feel empowered to do their best work.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement
  • Investor relations: Support fundraising efforts and coordinating due diligence.
  • Ecosystem building: Represent the company at industry events, hackathons, and deeptech forums.
  • Requirements:

  • 5+ years in high-growth environments: Experience in scale-ups, venture capital, consulting (McKinsey, BCG), or deeptech industries.
  • Operational rigor: Proven track record in strategy, operations, or project management, with a bias for execution.
  • Strategic thinker: You can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to handle the details—ensuring that both align.
  • Deeptech curiosity: Familiarity with R&D cycles, technical constraints, and commercialization challenges in deeptech (e.g., hardware, biotech, quantum…).
  • Analytical mindset: Ability to synthesize complex data (financial, technical, market) into actionable insights.
  • Stakeholder management: Experience working with executives, investors, and cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments.
  • Builder mentality: You thrive in ambiguity, take ownership, and create structure where none exists.
  • Resilience: Comfortable with rapid pivots, high stakes, and long-term vision.
  • Humility and confidence: You’re secure enough to ask questions and driven enough to find answers.
  • Nice-to-Hava: Experience in fundraising (VC, grants, corporate partnerships) or M&A; Experience in deeptech, hardware, or industrial sectors; Network in the European deeptech ecosystem
  • Benefits:

  • Our success is your success : own it with our BSPCE plan
